Welcome to the Penrhyn Quarry Railway

The PQR today is a demonstration railway, built on an original section of the Penrhyn Quarry Railway at Felin Fawr, Bethesda. It's the site of the former work shops and foundry. The current PQR shows a glimpse into the history of slate quarrying and the transport system that was used since 1801 (upgraded 1877-1878).

The PQR have just started running a regular train service.
See Timetable page for more information.

The current PQR project is currently working on phase 2 of track extension, to enhance the local economy.
